What are the kingdoms in conflict and how will it affect me? As a Christian and American I find myself trying to sort out all that is happening in this country today. The impeachment trials, the economy, foreign combats, debt and maybe most of all a country divided.
The scriptures are very clear that a nation divided cannot stand and a family divide will suffer. We know by some of our past experiences, here and other places we have heard about, that a church divide may greatly affect showing the glory of God. See the following scriptures from the TPT:
No kingdom can endure if it is divided against itself,
and a splintered household will not be able to stand, for it is divided.
From now on, even family members will be divided over me and will choose sides against one another.
This may be my opinion only but what I have seen on the news lately makes me believe we are a nation divided. It seems to me we have a schoolyard squabble for power, fame and - as silly as it may sound - children demanding the ball belongs to them.
Most Americans today desire peace and a good way of life for all.
Personally, I’m heartbroken over the struggles we have as a nation. Watching grown well-educated people act like children fighting over a toy rather than finding common ground for the good of all. I can only imagine what a nation under God could be like. Perhaps all that is going on now, (Democrat/Republican, Christian/non-Christian, White/Those of color, etc.) is really a test for those who put their trust in the kingdom of God. As many wise people have said, “It’s not the trouble that builds character but how we deal with it.”
When I see people of God put their trust in The Kingdom of God our Father, I know there is real hope in any situation. In His kingdom, there is only one voice that matters. That voice is the King's voice. The King we serve is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is the first and final answer, the alpha and omega in everything.
I am pleased, as Paul the Apostle said, I didn’t die for any of you. There was only one worthy sacrifice and that was the Son of God, Jesus Christ. He is the only anointed one and messiah.
1 Corinthians 1:13
But let me ask you, is Christ divided up into groups? Did I die on the cross for you? At your baptism did you pledge yourselves to follow Paul?
At Trinity Church, I believe our hearts are drawing closer to God and each other. Let’s continue to love one another as Jesus loved us!
34 “So I give you now a new commandment: Love each other just as much as I have loved you. 35 For when you demonstrate the same love, I have for you by loving one another, everyone will know that you’re my true followers.”
