Steps to Support Christian Growth
Pastor Harry / Feb 11th, 2020 11:50 am     A+ | a-

On January 17 & 18 the Elders, staff, and spouses dedicated their time for teaching, activities, fellowship, and worship. On this retreat, our goal was to grow as a leadership team but more importantly to become more like Jesus in our everyday life.

I want to share the steps we took. I believe as you read through theses steps it will help you see two things:

1. The leadership team is focused on becoming better in all we do for God’s glory.
2. Anyone can move through these steps to consider their own personal walk with Jesus. Let’s face it God is no respecter
    of persons.

 Acts 10:34 (KJV)
Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, “of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons”

I like the way the message bible states this scripture:

Message (MSG)
Peter fairly exploded with his good news: “It’s God’s own truth, nothing could be plainer: God plays no favorites! It makes no difference who you are or where you’re from—if you want God and are ready to do as he says, the door is open.

He loves us all the same and His desire for us is to be one with Him and each other.

Please consider the steps we took and see if they speak to you. Even though we all know these steps, in part, is there something in them that could take you higher, deeper or broader in Jesus?

Steps
Using this primary scripture:

Philippians 3:12-14 (TPT)
12 I admit that I haven’t yet acquired the absolute fullness that I’m pursuing, but I run with passion into his abundance so that I may reach the purpose that Jesus Christ has called me to fulfill and wants me to discover13 I don’t depend on my own strength to accomplish this;[a] however I do have one compelling focus: I forget all of the past as I fasten my heart to the future instead. 14 I run straight for the divine invitation of reaching the heavenly goal and gaining the victory-prize through the anointing of Jesus.

7 steps of growth (to consider & act upon as you pursue God):

  1. I have decided not to stay the same. I know there is more for me.

  2. I know I must hear from God if there is any hope to make a difference in me and others.

  3. I’m looking forward to the excitement in discovering more in God’s kingdom.

  4. I am pleased that the scriptures reinforce my calling to draw closer to God.

  5. I know I will walk with others in spirit & truth as one body in Christ Jesus.

  6. I am fully aware that all I do & become is for the glory of God my King.

  7. I am going to open my heart to more fully receive “Christ in me the hope of Glory.”

Please read these supportive scriptures:

Isaiah 43:18-19 ESV
“Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

Psalm 32:8 ESV
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.

Joel 2:28
I Will Pour Out My Spirit upon all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions....

Rom. 11:33-36 (MSG)
Have you ever come on anything quite like this extravagant generosity of God, this deep, deep wisdom? It’s way over our heads. We’ll never figure it out.
Is there anyone around who can explain God?
Anyone smart enough to tell him what to do?
Anyone who has done him such a huge favor that God has to ask his advice?
Everything comes from him; Everything happens through him; Everything ends up in him.
Always glory! Always praise!  Yes. Yes. Yes.

Zech 4:6
Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit Says The Lord of Host.

There is nothing better than living a fulfilled life in Jesus!

Be blessed as you come into the highest place God is calling you to.
