Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6)
Jesus brings dead things to life. Where there was numbness, decay, and barrenness - Jesus brings vibrancy, growth, and productivity! He abolishes uncertainty and illusion with conviction and substance. When we believed we were sinners, he called us saints. When we felt our lives have no purpose, Jesus said he knows the plans he has for us.
So how do we become more like Jesus in this? Do we speak truth to and over the people around us? Do we carry life with us wherever we go?
When our friend believes she is unloveable, do we proclaim God’s passion for her? When an unemployed neighbor feels doomed to failure, do we speak the truth that in Christ he can be more than a conqueror? When our own thoughts accuse us of unrighteousness, do we declare our righteousness is in Christ? Do we pray for the sick, seek freedom for the captive, comfort the lonely, and encourage the fearful?
If we will claim to be Jesus disciples, we must become like him. We must become life and truth in our environment.
Jesus is Life and Truth. Are you?
