Joy is the by product of integration, of connection within a matrix of safe relationships. These relationships also place demands on us because they expect and hope that we will live in such a way so as to promote goodness and beauty. Joy, in this sense, is the outcome of Jesus’ awareness of his Father’s absolute delight in him, his joy in Jesus’ presence, not just Jesus’ behavior. This joy leads to the eventual carrying out the vision for his place in the world: to be its Lord. Eph. 2:20
How do we scorn shame? Anticipatory Joy.
To know and to be known (A universal desire, probably the greatest yearning of the heart).
